HYBRID VESSELS
Inverlussa is the first workboat operator in the UK to invest in fully-hybrid vessels specifically for the Aquaculture sector.
Our modern fleet of Hybrid technology vessels offer extended periods of operational duties on site (up to 6 hours) solely powered by batteries. The duration during standby/overnight domestic usage can be numerous days.
The Hybrid systems can be charged using Plug-in shore power, or self-charged when a generator is in operation, running at it’s optimum settings. The avoidance of running generators during peak operational loads or sitting waiting on idle has reduced fuel usage and CO2 emissions by up to 35%.
The reduction in noise, vibrations and gases makes the vessels more comfortable to live onboard, work next to on site or have located within the communities we operate.
We see this as the future next step for the workboat industry.
