Ben has developed the marine division to satisfy the demands of the changing industry; by supplying tailored solutions for our clients.   Having been involved with the business since it was established, he has worked through every department of the company and understands the needs of both clients and employees, to ensure that everyone’s needs are satisfied.


Douglas Wilson – Director

Douglas has over 30 years’ experience of owning and operating commercial vessels and manages the annual dry docking of the vessels. He started his career in fishing and then diversified into what is now one of the largest mussel farm operations in Scotland. Douglas is also Vice Chairman of Scottish Shellfish Marketing Group.

Having been involved in the business since its inception, Helen plays a vital support role within the company, both supervising crew logistics and arranging the mussel deliveries to local hotels and restaurants in Mull and the surrounding area.


Margo Wilkie – Financial Controller

Margo joined the company in 2011, bringing the financial skills and experience she developed while successfully running her own business for many years. In addition to controlling all aspects of finance, she is responsible for maintaining the standards required for ISO 9001 Quality Management.


Lee Smith – Marine Technical Manager

Having many years of experience as both a skipper and working offshore, Lee is responsible for our Safety Management System, with the aim to provide a proactive on-board safety culture within an expanding fleet. He ensures that the skippers’ needs are addressed promptly and efficiently and that vessels are maintained to the highest standards, with minimal downtime.  Lee is also the deputy DPA onshore.


Alan Palmer – Vessel Co-ordinator

Alan has been working internationally as an engineer in the offshore oil and gas industry for the last 4 years, with its strict Health and Safety culture.  He is responsible for vessel logistics and scheduling feed deliveries around the Highlands and Islands. He is also responsible for monitoring crew qualifications and maintaining our comprehensive training schedule.


Cameron Maclean – Mussel Farm Manager

With 21 years’ experience in aquaculture, Cameron joined us in 2005. He supervises the year round duties of the team involved in producing the harvest while maintaining the Grade A quality standards of the product. The mussels are then distributed to major supermarkets around the country, in addition to providing fresh produce to local hotels and restaurants.
