Our Team
We believe that a company's greatest asset is its workforce. Inverlussa is proud to employ local people and fortunate to have such an experienced and dedicated team.Customer satisfaction is the ethos that runs right through our organisation, from the more experienced hands to the newest recruit. We strive to train our staff well and to ensure that everyone clearly understands the importance of safety on the job. Our aim is to help every employee to realise their potential. Managing Director Douglas Wilson, with more than thirty years’ experience on West Coast waters, oversees the general running of the company. He also works with Cameron MacLean, our mussel farm manager, on keeping our shellfish operation at the top of its field in Scotland. As a very experienced mussel farmer, Cameron has the level of skill which can only be gained from learning the job from scratch – he can answer everything a buyer might want to know. An engineer and biologist are also employed on the mussel farm, to keep everything running smoothly.
Director Ben Wilson looks after the day to day running of the marine services side of the business, and adopts a hands-on approach to help the company’s fully qualified skipper/managers on board the workboats, whether it be with cargo deliveries, dive support work for the renewable energy field, or emergency ferry cover. The marine service staff have a good understanding of the fishfarm industry’s feed delivery and support service requirements - and the whole team at Inverlussa use their specialist skills, while adopting a flexible “Can Do” attitude, to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
Seven crew assist on the workboats, on different jobs, as requested. They will be joined by additional staff once our new vessel, Helen Burnie arrives, in April, 2012.
It is a well known fact that no business can prosper without a good office manager at the helm and that is where Helen Wilson comes in, with a helping hand from Margo Wilkie. Dealing with all the paperwork and invoices, Helen, a Director of the company, also managing the logistics of organising deliveries and other jobs. She also attends to the hundred and one unseen tasks that keep a business running smoothly.
Every one of us aims to please - it is our team spirit that allows us to deliver exactly what the customer wants.
