NEW WORKBOAT COMING INTO SERVICE APRIL 2012
As Scotland embraces the renewable energy revolution, Inverlussa Marine Services is investing in a new state-of-the-art workboat.Helen Burnie, currently under construction at Macduff Shipyards, will be a general purpose coastal supply vessel, available to assist with all the traditional marine service tasks which are the backbone of our business.
However, with so many exciting new plans in the offing for offshore power developments, our new boat means that Inverlussa will also be fully equipped to meet the growing demands of the green energy world.
The new workboat will have LOA of 27m, beam of 9m and a depth of 3.3m. Due to her versatility and high manoeuvrability we expect that Helen Burnie will be in great demand for dive and survey support, for a variety of renewable energy projects - from offshore wind farm work to tidal energy surveys.
But the boat will be available for all logistical marine services, including cargo transport, general dive support, 75 tonne and 20 tonne fuel and fresh water transfer, cable laying, container (including reefer) transport, plough dredging, anchor handling and towage up to 15 tonne bollard pull.
With her 100 tonne deck cargo capacity, she will be a real asset for multi-role survey work off the West Coast of Scotland.
Inverlussa Marine Services has a reputation for providing reliable logistical services, in and around the West Coast of Scotland and as far afield as the Isle of Man and Southern Ireland.
Our contracts to date include public car ferry relief work, tidal energy survey work, for both the Sound of Islay and Kyle Rhea projects, offshore marine farm surveys, dive support for salvage and civil engineering, costal transport, including fish feed delivery, non standard cargo transport and cable laying.
This new member of our fleet, which will be launched by Macduff Shipyards in March, 2012 - ready for handover to Inverlussa Marine Services the following month - will help us provide an even more comprehensive service.
Helen Burnie will be available for charter from April 2012. Please telephone Ben Wilson on 07990 595909, or email ben@inverlussa.com for more information.
